24x24 acrylic and ink on canvas. In my recent experimental paintings I have been imposing enforced restrictions on myself. For example, in the "Liquid" series I used only an eyedropper and gravity to apply and control the flow of liquid acrylic and paint, on smooth surfaces. In this painting, and the previous Carve, I am "letting myself go" and using any medium, tool, or technique that I think needs to be introduced at the time. In this case, the painting began as a rendering of a sketch, but transformed into an earth-tone based composition of poured inks over the original painting (some of which peeks through, adding interesting splashes of color). I then painted some line work with ink using a detail brush, and used a series of small brushes to define positive and negative shapes.

to me your comment make your art really art, as i first saw one of your paintings i thought of a beautiful work made with a good idea, a feeling for colours and a little bit of luck, now i know your art is almost fully controlled and that shows you really express yourself and don't let the fortune work for you!!!
