Some progress making Arthur Brouthers-style "cells".  This was done with diluted Golden Heavy Body acrylic, silicone oil, and the swipe technique. Some potential here that needs further refinement!

I think I'm on way to cracking the code, and not by using the cheap craft paints, silicone oil, and torch that's all the rage on Youtube now!  Still a lot to explore here but I've had some pretty cool results with this simple pour,

Lately I've been fascinated with "automatic painting" techniques, reactions between different mediums that can produce stunning effects on their own.  I'm talking artists like Arthur Brouthers and Nancy Wood for example.  I still haven't cracked their techniques, but I'll post any interesting discoveries along the way.  Above is a reaction between Golden Highflow acrylic inks, watered and spread over panel, and FW "Shimmering Red" iridescent ink.  I think there's some potential in using the "iridescent" inks for interesting reactions in my paintings.
